My best memory of Ritchie.....I met him in the late 70s early 80s when he was on tour with Rainbow! They were playing a concert in Philadelphia and after the show I found out the band was staying at the Holiday Inn in downtown Philly. I said to my friends let's go there and I know he will be hanging out at the bar.....sure enough he was there sitting in the corner booth in the bar. I was on the other side of the bar area with my friends holding the first Rainbow album......I stood across the room still as a deer.......😂 Ritchie looked up at me and pointed his finger for me to come over. At that point my heart was racing as he was and still is my favorite rock guitarist of all time!! I nervously walked over and sat down next to him.... Told him he was my idol and asked if he wouldn't mind signing the album. He was very nice to me and a real gentleman! He happily signed the inside cover...To Ira, From Ritchie Blackmore! I thanked him and got up cause I didn't want to overstay my welcome. Omg, the best memory ever! I still have that album and framed it..... hanging on my wall. The pen ink never faded!!! Regardless of what people said about Ritchie, he's good in my book and a really cool dude!! I'll always love him, his guitar playing and song writing. He was my biggest influence with my own guitar playing!! I've seen you with Blackmores Night a few times and enjoyed the shows very much! What a beautiful voice you have!! Would have loved to meet you too Candace! Wishing you and Ritchie much happiness in the years to come. I live in Florida now and retired. 😊😊
